Current Self-Tan Routine

Tanning can be a little tricky when you’re pregnant, especially with your crazy hormones. Sometimes the tan won’t stick to some parts of your body (like your belly!) which can be a little silly looking, but those of you who are like me and live to be a little bit tanner, you just work with it. Self-tanning is different from spray tanning when it comes to pregnancy, you always want to confirm with your doctor if it’s okay to spray tan. My doctor didn’t give me a definitive answer, so I haven’t spray tanned yet, but all of my friends started spray tanning in their 2nd trimester! One of the main things you need to worry about with spray tanning while pregnant is inhaling the product so if you do spray-tan, make sure you wear nose or ear plugs.

I will admit, I never got approval for my tanning mousse, I just did a lot of research and asked what kinds many of you and my friends used and I haven’t had any issues in the last 15 weeks. My doctor knows I self-tan, and hasn’t asked me about it so figured it wasn’t a big deal. Please don’t take my recommendation though, if you feel the need, always ask your doctor especially if you’ve never used self-tan before.

I am still using my Loving Tan 2 HR Express Dark. It lasts me about 2 months because I get the large bottle. I also use an exfoliating mitt to scrub the tan off, but you want to be GENTLE with your skin because it’s very sensitive right now. So if you’re pregnant and can’t handle the glove, just use a wash cloth. The other mitt is the tanning mitt which I linked here for you.

I also discovered Pink Lily’s luxury tanning lotion and it is EVERYTHING! It gives the most perfect bronzing glow without much work. It goes on sale a lot too (but in case it isn’t, try my code: KP20)

No need to feel white and pasty while you’re pregnant, I know I feel better and more productive and sexier when tan, and pregnancy always makes you feel bleh sometimes so get approval and tan yourself sisters. ;) XO
