summers 3 month schedule

hi everyone !! I get questions all the time about summer’s schedule and while ALL babies are different with their sleeping/eating habits, I will go ahead and share what we do. we follow Moms on Call schedule for the most part, we just tailor it more towards Summer and what’s best for her, but we do use it as a guideline. like I said, every baby is different so you may need to tweak things to fit your lifestyle/babies needs. there are a few things I won’t share as in how many oz she eats and whatnot, because she’s petite and doesn’t eat the “average” but she’s healthy and she’s growing consistently and our pediatrician is not worried at all!

oh and another thing I wanted to mention, this schedule is just a GUIDELINE. literally every day is different and summer may sleep her full 2 hour nap or she will sleep 30 minutes and we will have to shift the schedule a bit so it all just depends. the only thing that truly stays consistent and what she naps around is eating times. she has a bottle every 3 hours, no ifs ands or buts. if she fights her sleep and finally falls asleep 30 minutes before her 3 hours is up, I wake her up and feed her, I don’t let her sleep past the 3 hours to feed. I also don’t let her sleep more than 2 hours per nap.

Okay, the ideal schedule is below (we have been implementing this since 8 weeks old!!)

7am: Wake up no matter what day it is (we use the Hatch baby and have an alarm clock every morning that says “wake upppp good morning, etc”) and change her diaper

7:30am: bottle with probiotics

8-8:30am: play

8:30-10:30am: nap

10:30am: change/bottle

11-12pm: play

12-1:30pm: nap

1:30pm: change/bottle

2-3pm: play

3-4:30pm: nap

4:30pm: change/bottle

5-6pm: play

6-6:30pm: catnap

6:30-7:30pm: play

7:30pm: change/bottle with nighttime gripe water

8pm: bath and book

8:30/9pm: dreamfeed 1-2oz and rock to sleep

9pm-7am: SLEEP (must use sound machine on loud all night long!!!

Now you may be thinking, whoa that’s a lot… I don’t want to commit to that and you don’t have too! this is what works for us and honestly, Summer is thriving on this schedule. She is the happiest she’s ever been and healthiest. She is eating a lot more oz’s than she did prior and she sleeps so much better.

One thing I have learned is babies need a certain amount of calories and to have them sleep more at night, they need to be able to consume more during the day which makes total sense.

I hope this helps some of you that were curious about her schedule. Good luck if you try it <3
